Demographics, Geography, and Transportation

York City is undergoing a fledgling renaissance and the time is ripe for your investment in our historic county seat, home of the cultural and recreational resources of a large city and the charm, affordability, and quality of life of a smaller town. York City is proud to be the county seat of one of the fastest growing counties in Pennsylvania. York County, which recently eclipsed 400,000 people and is poised to grow to 500,000 people in the decade ahead.

Located in the heart of south central Pennsylvania within a short drive of major metropolitan population centers, York City is a prime location to do business. Interstate 83 offers easy access to Route 30, Interstate 95, and Interstate 76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike), making York a perfect place to conduct business on the east coast. Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. are within a two-hour drive. Baltimore, the second largest East Coast port, is a 45-minute drive. Harrisburg, the state capital, is a 30-minute drive.
